Seascapes Skies Forests & Still Life Original Oil Paintings

A Positive Update

In early February 2023 our lives were put on hold as after an initial illness over the winter period Martin was diagnosed with cancer.

I would like to thank everyone for their love and ongoing support during this difficult period and I look forward to being back with an exhibition of my paintings in September of 2024. Martin

I love painting large canvases of forests as they allow you to disappear into the scene and almost become part of the painting. Following a winding path or trail leading you deeper into the unknown depths of an ancient forest, a journey of discovery into a majestic world.

The warmth of an orange sunset or the soft misty horizon and energy of a calming seascape. All these things bring the natural beauty of nature directly into our homes.

Why am I an artist ?

An introduction video by Martin

For many years now I have been a teacher of classical drawing and oil painting techniques from my studios at the Classical Art Academy in Bournemouth UK. An Atelier Art School I opened in 2010 and still own that focuses on the teachings and techniques of the old masters of the Renaissance.

After all these years teaching I have now launched as an artist with a series of works named Emotus, a rage of seascapes and misty forests that I hope you enjoy as much as I have enjoyed creating them. Martin Close
